Ideal Standard / Armitage Shanks Univalve Diaphragm Replacement Washer SV32967 Pack of 5.

The Ideal Standard Univalve Diaphragm Replacement Washer SV32967 is the replacement washer for the ever popular quarter-turn style SV Univalve. The SV Univalve is often found fitted to many Armitage Shanks and ideal Standard toilet cisterns. This replacement washer has changed slightly to the original it was designed to replace in that the original older Hushflow washer didn t have the additional rim seal around the base - so suffice to say, Ideal Standard have improved their design!

Replacing your old washer is quick and simple in that all you need to do is gently twist the valve a quarter turn to expose and then replace the old washer. It s important to note that the old washer will likely have visible ribs imprinted in the rubber and this is perfectly normal - these ribs would have formed when the inlet valve body compressed onto the valve when in use leaving the rib imprint over time.

Like all things, time and use tend to wear things down, the same goes for the washer. As the valve is continuously opening and closing, small tears can start to form in the diaphragm washer and in turn the diaphragm washer will no longer give a good seal. When you add to this potential debris in the water supply (common place calcium and minerals etc) also contribute to the slow deterioration of the item. A simple replacement of the washer could save you time and money by avoiding the need to replace the entire unit and as this is a common issue faced over time these replacement washers come in popular packs of 5 so that you always have one spare.
